
In honor of International Yoga Day 2025, the Consulate General of India in New York organized a lively yoga class in Times Square that drew hundreds of attendees.
In partnership with Times Square, the Consulate General of India (CGI) in New York celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with a lively and invigorating yoga class at Times Square, the famous Crossroads of the World. Both locals and visitors, as well as yoga devotees, attended the event, uniting to honor India’s age-old gift to the globe.
The official handle of CGI New York wrote in a post shared on X, “CGI New York, in collaboration with @TimesSquareNYC, hosted a vibrant Yoga Session at the iconic Crossroads of the World – Times Square! Here are a few more glimpses from this energising celebration of wellness and unity.”
Images circulated on the internet showed hundreds of people in Times Square executing yoga poses. Notably, actor Anupam Kher was also spotted speaking to the audience from the platform, giving the occasion a dash of Indian cultural pride.
