Netflix’s most-hyped dystopian horror show, Squid Game, dropped its third and final season on the streaming platform on Friday, and the reviews are in. Squid Game, which captivated the internet in 2021, became a global phenomenon by spotlighting economic hardship, human morality, and societal inequality—themes that deeply resonated with audiences worldwide.
The South Korean show follows the life of a financially-strapped Seong Gi-hun, who joins the deadly game show only to realise there is a lot to lose than gain and it’s not all child’s play as it initially seemed. Gi-hun, beating all the odds, emerges victorious among 456 desperate participants.
However, with growing disgust and disdain for his bloody jackpot of 45.6 billion, the man returns to the competition with a mission to bring it to an end.
