
Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant walked off the field with a finger injury during the first day’s play between the third Test against England at Lord’s on Thursday.
Pant copped a blow on his fingertip while attempting to get his hands to a Jasprit Bumrah delivery that was fired down legside. The Delhi ‘keeper attempted to continue behind the wickets after some medical intervention but was visibly wincing in pain.
Eventually, Dhruv Jurel was brought in to take up the gloves. England has breached the three-figure mark for the loss of two wickets with Joe Root and Ollie Pope putting up a 50-run partnership.
After a slow-moving opening hour, Nitish Kumar Reddy managed to prise out both of England’s openers in the first over of his spell.
