Tanush Kotian and Anshul Kamboj added 149 runs for the eighth wicket on the fourth day of the second unofficial Test between India A and England Lions in Northampton.
This was the highest eight-wicket partnership for India A, bettering the previous record of 137 runs which belonged to Cheteshwar Pujara and Jaskarandeep Singh Buttar, who managed the feat against West Indies A in 2010.
Only three other pairs have managed stands of 100 or more runs for the eighth wicket for India A.
Kotian and Kamboj joined forces at 268 for seven and helped India A inflate their lead to 438 runs. Kotian scored 90 while Kamoj managed 51.
Had India A not declared on 417 runs, Kotian was on course to become just the second player after Ajit Agarkar to score a century at number eight or lower.
