Call of Duty Black Ops 7 teaser: The Call of Duty game series is one of the most popular gaming properties in the world, with their catalogue spanning across two decades and 23 games. Published originally by Activision in 2003, the series and its characters have become synonymous with first-person shooter games, and now they are back with another addition to their prolific collection. Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, Black Ops 7 is set in 2035 and will pick up from after the events of Black Ops 2 and 6.
Our protagonist, David “Section” Mason, who was earlier voiced by Avatar actor David Worthington, will now be voiced by actor Milo Ventimiglia, who is best known for his role in the TV series Gilmore Girls. David can be seen exploring the offices of The Guild, which poses as a company building tech for the betterment of society but in reality is a criminal organisation. David soon realises how the company’s innovations are getting more advanced and stronger and how the promise of protecting the entire world is just another way of putting it in a cage.

David follows a red butterfly, which seems to be a digital creation, and finds himself in a world with its dimensions all warped. As the butterfly lands upon a hand that emerges from the dark, the palm closes, reducing the butterfly to dust, and we hear the familiar voice of Raul Menendez, the main antagonist of Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty Strike Team. For context, Menendez is a Nicaraguan drug lord who planned an attack against the US government and other heads of state.
While the teaser doesn’t give away the exact motive behind Menendez’s plans, we get an idea about his psyche going into this narrative as he snarls while addressing David and says, “Fear is a powerful thing, David Mason.” No confirmation regarding the release date was made, but most Call of Duty games drop in either October or November. The caption posted by the developers along with the teaser reads, “The year is 2035, and the world is on the brink of chaos, ravaged by violent conflict and psychological warfare following the events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. Wielding cutting-edge technology, the Black Ops team led by David Mason must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponises fear above all else.”
