Indian women’s team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur shared her player of the match award with youngster Kranti Goud after the team’s 13-run win over England in the third WODI at Chester-le-Street on Tuesday.
The victory gave India a second straight series win in England with Harmanpreet named player of the match and player of the series for her efforts.
In a video posted by BCCI Women on X, Harmanpreet acknowledged Goud’s career-best figures of 6/52 by sharing the POTM honour with the youngster.
“I want to share this award with Kranti because she bowled one of the best spells in her career and I think it’s a great achievement as a bowler. We have been crying out for fast bowlers like you. For the experience she broguth with her through domestic cricket and Women’s Premier League and to execute it here, she deserves to share this award,” said Harmanpreet.
Harmanpreet’s 84-ball 102 powered India to a commanding total of 318 — its eighth highest total.
During England’s chase, the 21-year-old medium pacer Goud struck early with the new ball by removing openers Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones before running through England’s lower order at the death with the wickets of Charlie Dean, Alice-Davidson Richards, Lauren Filer and Lauren Bell.
