Kim Jong-Suk is no more.
South Korean model and reality TV personality Kim Jong-Suk has passed away at the age of 29. His family confirmed the news on June 6, stating that he died earlier in the week. While the announcement has left the entertainment industry and fans in mourning, it has also led to growing speculation about the circumstances of his death. The family has chosen not to disclose the exact cause at this time, leading to further questions.
According to Korean media reports, Kim was linked to an incident in Hanam, Gyeonggi-do prior to his death. As per a report by Koreaboo, the situation involved a man in his twenties who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. After police intervention, the man reportedly jumped to his death from a high-rise building. Though no official connection between Kim and the man has been confirmed, the timing of the incident has led to widespread speculation online.
In response to the rumours, Kim Jong-Suk’s family issued a public statement urging people not to spread or believe false information. His elder sister took to social media to express the family’s anguish, stating, “We are in the middle of funeral preparations, overwhelmed and heartbroken. But I’m seeing so many baseless and false claims spreading across online communities. At first, we chose not to respond, hoping Jong-Suk could rest in peace. But now, it has gone too far.”
She added that they had requested the removal of misleading articles and would soon share a summary of the police report along with a statement from a friend who was with Kim at the time of the incident. She also warned of legal action and cyber investigations against those posting defamatory content, stating that the false narratives were causing immense pain to the family.
News of Kim’s passing first surfaced when a friend posted a tribute on social media, writing, “It’s hard to believe I’ll never see your smiling face again. Every warm word we exchanged, every moment we spent together, was a blessing.” His family later confirmed that he passed away on June 4. Fans have since flooded social media with tributes, many expressing sadness over the increasing number of young talents lost in the South Korean entertainment industry. Several posts also highlighted the urgent need for better mental health awareness and support systems.
