The Special Take Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh police has foiled a major smuggling attempt and has arrested one person for allegedly smuggling turtles across the international border. A total of 102 turtles have been recovered in the process.
The accused, Pinku, an international smuggler, is a resident of Lucknow. During interrogation, investigators found that he used to supply these turtles to Bihar and West Bengal.
A detailed investigation is presently being conducted in the case and a search is on to nab the others associated with this smuggling racket.
