Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe is back in training after missing its first two FIFA Club World Cup 2025 matches due to an acute case of gastroenteritis, according to reports on Monday.
Mbappe missed Madrid’s first match against Al Hilal due to illness, with the club confirming he had a fever. The French skipper was even admitted to hospital and was later discharged.
As a result, Mbappe didn’t travel with the team to Charlotte for its second game against Pachuca and stayed back at the team hotel.

Mbappe has been an important part of Real’s attack and was the top scorer last season, netting 43 goals in 56 appearances in his debut year after joining from Paris Saint-Germain.
First-placed Real will face second-placed RB Salzburg in their final game of the group stage on June 27.
Real must avoid defeat against Salzburg to secure qualification. A loss would leave its fate hinging on the Al Hilal vs Pachuca result — anything but a win for the Saudi side would still send Xabi Alonso’s team through.
