The highly anticipated Season 12 of Bigg Boss Kannada is set to premiere, with Kichcha Sudeep returning as the host. After a surprise announcement last year about his decision to step down, Sudeep has now agreed to host the show once again, much to the delight of his fans. So, what changed his mind? Sources suggest a compelling reason for his return to Bigg Boss Kannada.
In a press conference held on Monday, the organisers of Bigg Boss Kannada, which airs on Colours Kannada, revealed that Kichcha Sudeep will return as the host for the next four seasons. Contrary to earlier speculation about multiple conditions, it appears that Sudeep has set just one key condition for his return to the show.
The actor shed light on the negotiations, saying, “They wanted it to start at a certain date, and I have requested them to push it ahead by 3-4 weeks, as I am committed to trying and ensuring that I have a film release in 2025. Billa Ranga Baashaa is ongoing and another project will be announced shortly.”
However, he clarified that it was not his issue with the organisers. “Bigg Boss needs all kinds of characters. My only demand to the organisers was that they must have a clear idea behind picking contestants. As a host, I shouldn’t stress myself about certain participants while I ignore the rest,” he said.
Why was Kichcha Sudeep Unhappy?
In a candid interview with The Hindu, Kichcha Sudeep had earlier alluded to the “inside agendas” of Colours, the channel partner, which likely influenced his decision to step down as the host of Bigg Boss Kannada.
Furthermore, the actor clarifies that his concerns don’t stem from the local channel partner, but rather from the higher-ups who oversee the representation of Bigg Boss Kannada. He expresses disappointment with how the show is handled at the top level, noting that this issue doesn’t seem to affect the other regional versions.
On the work front, Kichcha Sudeep’s last release was the blockbuster film Max in 2024. He currently has two exciting projects lined up – Billa Ranga Baasha and Max 2.
