Rashmika Mandanna graced Kuberaa song launch event in Mumbai on Tuesday
Rashmika Mandanna is gearing up for the release of her upcoming social thriller film ‘Kuberaa’, which also stars Dhanush and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The actors are promoting the film in fill swing, and they recently graced the film’s song launch event in Mumbai. During the event, Rashmika was called the ‘number 1′ actor by the host. The actress’ humble reply to that has won over people’s hearts!
At the Kuberaa event, Rashmika Mandanna was called the ‘number one actor in a really long time’. She replied, “Ma’am the way you are saying it no, I’m feeling a lot of pressure.” She further added that the comment left her wondering whether she should give an inspirational answer. However, she said that she feels she has only just begun, and doesn’t know what this ‘race’ of being number 1 is about.
“I’m like, should I give a very inspirational answer or motivational answer? I don’t know. Thank you for saying that. But I feel like I have honestly just started, because I don’t know what this whole number 1 situation is. Because we are doing films in the South, we are doing films in Bollywood. So I don’t know what this race is about. But I know for sure that I have just started,” said the actress.
Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula, stars Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil. Originally scheduled for an April release, the film will now hit theatres on June 20, 2025. Amazon Prime Video has secured post-theatrical streaming rights of the film.
Kuberaa explores the themes of power and wealth. It centers around Dhanush’s character, a homeless man from Mumbai’s Dharavi slums who rises to become a strong mafia leader, while Nagarjuna will be playing a complex character in the forthcoming film. Rashmika, on the other hand, plays a woman quietly craving more than what her middle-class life offers and Jim Sarbh brings charm and sharp edges as a high-flying businessman.
