Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, a spiritual successor to Taare Zameen Par (2007), has finally arrived in theatres. The film had been eagerly awaited, promising another heartwarming and uplifting story, this time featuring 10 newcomers making their big-screen debut. With a trailer that struck an emotional chord and songs that quickly became favourites, audiences were excited to watch the film in cinemas. Now, as the film opens to a tremendous response across theatres, Aamir Khan and the cast had a delightful surprise for the fans.
Aamir Khan and the debutant cast of Sitaare Zameen Par surprised fans by visiting theatres screening the film, leaving them absolutely thrilled. A video shared by the film’s makers captures the electric atmosphere, filled with cheers, applause, and heartfelt moments. The audience welcomed the new stars with cheers and loud applause, expressing their appreciation for them and the film. They were pleased to see Aamir Khan, who credited director RS Prasanna and the kids for their hard work and dedication. Meanwhile, Sitaare Zameen Par is doing good business at the box office. As per trade reports, Aamir’s film earned Rs 26.45 crore on Sunday, pushing its total to Rs 57.35 crore net in India. The film, which opened at Rs 11.7 crore on Friday, saw an impressive jump of nearly 89 per cent on Saturday with Rs 20.2 crore coming in. Sunday continued the momentum, with the Hindi version recording a 41.76 per cent occupancy and numbers rising steadily through the day.

Directed by R. S. Prasanna, who previously helmed the barrier-breaking blockbuster Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, the film marks his biggest collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions in Sitaare Zameen Par.

The lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with Ravi Bhagchandka as the producer. The film released in theatres on June 20, 2025.
