The Delhi Metro, often in the spotlight for unusual passenger behaviour, has now witnessed perhaps its most bizarre incident yet. Known for viral videos of fights, food feasts, and reel-making, the metro has become a daily stage for oddities. But this time, it’s not just humans grabbing attention—passengers claim to have seen a snake slithering through a coach, marking a new twist in the capital’s commuter drama.
A video recently surfaced showing chaos inside the ladies’ coach of a packed Delhi Metro train, allegedly after a snake entered the compartment. Though the snake itself is not visible in the clip, which has gone viral on Instagram, panicked reactions from the women—screaming and climbing onto seats—suggest its reported presence and considerable size, as claimed by passengers.
These videos have been posted on Instagram accounts @impact_stree and @chauhankeerty, showing the chaos in what is likely a Blue Line metro coach. The panic-stricken women can be seen urging each other to climb onto seats while attempting to communicate with the driver, pressing the emergency button and requesting an immediate stop. The driver halted the train at the next station; however, the snake remained unseen throughout the commotion.
The videos have amassed millions of views, sparking a range of reactions. While some viewers have mocked the situation, expressing concern for the snake, others have likened it to scenes from the reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi.’ One user even joked that the snake must be a ‘Naagin,’ explaining its presence in the ladies’ coach.
According to an NDTV report, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has clarified that no snake was found inside the coach following a thorough inspection and review of CCTV footage. DMRC’s head of Corporate Communications, Anuj Dayal, reportedly said that while no reptile was located, a small lizard was spotted during the search.
Reiterating its commitment to commuter safety, the DMRC urged passengers to stay alert and immediately report anything unusual to metro staff so that prompt action can be taken.
