A family’s breakfast at Disneyland in California sparked a buzz online after the father shared a photo of their nearly $1,000 bill. The hefty charge came from dining at the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures experience, which included meals for two children and three adults. The total, which also included a generous tip, left the father stunned. He admitted he was shocked by just how expensive the breakfast turned out to be.
The breakfast takes place at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, offering guests a special three-course dining experience. According to the Disneyland website, both adults and children are charged the same price—$142 per person. In addition to the meal, guests can meet Disney Princesses and participate in themed activities designed to create a magical, princess-filled morning.
Taking to X (Formerly Twitter), the man wrote, “Princess Breakfast at Disneyland with my kids. Almost spit out my coffee.” The father didn’t expect that making his kids happy would end up costing him such a big amount. He was shocked to see that the final amount showed $937 (approximately Rs 80,000) and that also included a $150 (approximately Rs 12,000) tip.
Reacting to the post, when a user asked, “Bro they tell you the price when you book, if you’re surprised that’s on you.” To this, the father informed, “I didn’t book it or look at the menu, I’m a being of pure entropy.”
Another jokingly asked, “Please tell me you have 35 kids.”
“They are pretty clear at the Grand California about the cost of that per guest and it takes months to get a reservation,” a comment read.
One more added, “If I ever find your house I’m robbing you.”
After many started guessing things about his money, choices and even if he was ready to be a good parent, the man shared a simple update. He said he earns well as a manager at Chipotle and was recently given a raise to $23 an hour. To help pay for the Disneyland trip, he also opened a new credit card. He made it clear that he’s handling things fine and is doing well overall.
As per Disneyland, for starters, kids are served a three-layer tower filled with small bites like coconut chia pudding, mini lobster rolls, beignets, banana wraps and cornbread. For the main course, kids can pick from favourites like Mickey-shaped waffles with chicken, creamy mac and cheese, and crispy bacon.
Adults get more options, such as soft scrambled eggs, turkey sausage with sweet pears and figs, devilled eggs, slow-cooked short ribs, truffle mac and cheese and colourful roasted carrots served on a smooth veggie mash. The meal ends with themed desserts like Ariel’s cake pops, Pocahontas-inspired sorbet, chocolate puffs for Aurora fans and pistachio macarons named after Tiana.
