Last month was all about viral trends with the Internet actively participating in the same. From nostalgic throwbacks to DIY experiments, the month saw users recreating the flurry of social media trends, including creepy-cute Labubu dolls or the glowing turmeric challenge. Having that in mind, here we take a look at some of the much-talked-about viral trends that took over the Internet in June.
Labubu Dolls
Among the trends that took the internet by storm last month was quirky, wide-eyed dolls, called Labubu dolls. Despite the unusual appearance, the doll’s collective craze had everyone talking, including renowned names from Bollywood as they bought themselves these dolls.
The success behind the doll can be credited to Wang Ning, the 38-year-old founder and CEO of Pop Mart. Interestingly, an Indian adaptation of the Labubu dolls with a desi twist also went viral on social media.
Maaf Karna Jamna
The iconic dialogues from the 1968 film Do Kaliyaan returned to the Internet last month, with many lip-syncing to the viral dialogues. Originally delivered by a young Neetu Kapoor, it soon became a trending audio on Instagram. The complete dialogue reads as follows: “Maaf karna Jamna, maine tujhe pagli kaha. Nahi, main hoon bhi thodi si, kuch bhi bol jaati hoon.”
Matcha Tea Craze
The powdered Japanese green tea was everywhere on social media, thanks to its vibrant green colour and health benefits. Soon after it was first shared on social media, users kept joining the bandwagon and sharing their Matcha-making videos. Even Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra also shared a video of herself, preparing the tea, leaving fans excited.
Glowing Turmeric Trend
A DIY science experiment called the “Glowing Turmeric” or “Magical Splash” trend also went viral by the end of the month. It involves making a blend of turmeric (haldi) and water with a phone flashlight shining through it. The result? A glowing effect that appears beyond magical. Soon, it became an instant hit on social media platforms. Loved it or not? This DIY trend ruled the Internet last month.
Tune Dil Par Chalai Churiyan
This particular trend sparked a wave of nostalgia among users as they lip-synced to the viral lyrics from the 1995 film Bewafa Sanam, sung by Sonu Nigam. Social media users recreated the viral trend, making reels, lip-syncs, and hilarious reactions that left everyone amazed.
As we have entered July, one thing is for sure the internet will keep surprising us with new viral trends.
