The recent news of Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar’s death has left many shocked. The body of the late star was found in an advanced state of decomposition. While the exact date of her death is not yet certain, post-mortem reports suggest that she passed away approximately nine months ago.
As the news of her death spreads globally, social media users have pointed out her last Instagram post. Surprisingly, despite the post being dated September 2024, no one checked on her or seemed to notice her absence from social media.
In the now-viral post shared on September 30, 2024, Humaira Asghar posted a series of images of herself posing in an ethnic outfit. The caption read, “Classic can hardly ever go out of style!!”
Who is Humaira Asghar, and why did the news of her death go viral?
While it is always disheartening to lose someone, Humaira Asghar’s case has shocked many, as it highlights how inhumane society has become in present times. According to a report by Arab News, her decomposed body was found in her apartment in July 2025. The post-mortem was conducted by Karachi Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed, who confirmed that the advanced stage of decomposition suggests her death occurred approximately nine months earlier.
Based on her phone records, Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Asad Raza provided a timeline of Asghar’s death, suggesting she may have passed away in October 2024. This aligns with the testimony of neighbors, who mentioned they last saw her in September or October of the previous year.
Since another apartment on her floor was vacant, no one noticed the foul smell coming from her unit. Her family refused to take responsibility for her body, allowing the police to “do whatever they want with it.” Her kitchen contained several perishable items, most of which were expired. The electricity to her apartment was disconnected in October 2024 due to non-payment of bills.
Humaira Asghar, born on October 10, 1992, is a Pakistani actress, model, and theatre artist. She has worked in several TV dramas, including Benaam, Chal Dil Mere, Guru, and Ehsaan Faramosh. However, her stardom rose after she participated in Tamasha Ghar in 2022. The show is the Pakistani version of Big Brother. In 2023, she received the National Women Leadership Award as an emerging star.
