Father’s Day is a special occasion when children express their love and gratitude for the fathers who support and care for their families unconditionally. This year, it was celebrated on June 15, and as expected, social media was filled with heartwarming posts, heartfelt messages and touching videos. However, amid all the sweetness and sentiment, one video stood out, not for its emotional value, but because it left viewers shocked and deeply concerned.
In the Instagram clip, the daughter presents her dad with a box wrapped in plain paper. On that paper, she had drawn a cute birthday-style cake with candles and written, “Happy Father’s Day papa.” Just below the cake, she added another message: “Kaisa laga mera surprise? (How did you like my surprise?)”
The father holds the box, examining it curiously from all sides. On the back, a matchstick and a lighting strip are taped, part of an unusual setup. His daughter instructs him to light the matchstick and then ignite the drawing of a birthday cake for the “big reveal.” As the paper catches fire, it slowly burns away to unveil what’s inside the box.
Naturally, everyone, including the father, might have expected something emotional or heartwarming. But as the wrapping disintegrates, the contents spark shock and disbelief. Inside the box are just three things: a cigarette, a pan masala packet, and gutka sachets. That’s it. That was the gift.
It seems the daughter, in her innocence, thought these were things her father loved because he might be consuming them regularly.

Since being shared online, the video has been viewed over twelve million times. The comments section has become a place for strong reactions and serious thoughts.
One user wrote, “How sad your daughter gave you this gift, sit alone and think.”
Another said, “Father should feel ashamed if this is what your children bring as a present.”
“I hope he stops using such products after this gift,” someone else added.
“Went from wholesome to concerning real quick,” read another comment.
Lastly, a viewer shared, “Design bahut badhiya hai par andar jo hai wo papa ke muhn pe tamacha tha (The packaging is good but the gift inside was a slap on the father’s face).”
The video shows how children notice everything, even small habits and sometimes their innocent actions say more than words.
