An American vlogger visiting India experienced the sweetest tradition of an Indian mother feeding him food with her hand in Kolkata.

Indian mothers often express their love, most often through food. From cooking their children’s favourite meals to preparing fresh fruit daily and packing lunchboxes with care, their affection is woven into every bite. One cherished tradition many remember is being hand-fed by their moms, especially during busy moments.
Recently, an American vlogger visiting Kolkata got to experience this touching tradition firsthand and was moved by the gesture. Content creator Dustin Cheverier shows an Indian mother mixing food on a thali with her hands and then feeds him while he sits at the table. She even supports his neck with one hand, just like many moms do with their children. Dustin is seen smiling the whole time. Towards the end of the video, the woman also taught him how to properly scoop the food with his hands.
In the video, he said, “Mom is mixing my food for me. Just to make sure I eat it right. Today is a veg day because it’s Thursday.” In the caption, Cheverier wrote, “Indian Mom Feeds Me Like A Baby.”
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “That’s so sweet of her.”
Another shared, “This is life, bro. You will only get this kinda love from an Indian mom.”
“This proves you actually became a son to a Bengali mother. Their love language is overloading you with food,” a comment read.

Another jokingly mentioned, “Bro, she’s roasting your eating patterns, saying ‘kheteo pare na,’ which means you can’t even eat.”
One more added, “Generally, I don’t like a few vegetables, my mom does this whenever she prepares them. Whatever you eat with mom’s hand, it’s absolutely delicious.”
Social media users noticed that in the video, the woman jokingly says things like he eats very slowly and struggles to finish his food.
